From the universe of acclaimed DC artist Mark Kelner comes a new exhibit, expanding upon his installation at the Umbrella pop-up, which attracted over 10,000 visitors in April. Kelner’s roots in Russian and American cultures form the basis of his artistic creations – from sneakily subversive advertising and corporate branding to symbols of Russian and Soviet visual culture and art history.
Featuring immersive elements like a fallout shelter and room of Soviet propaganda-inspired poster art, the exhibition will also be paired with a slate of special programming – including public tours with the artist and curator/designer Zachary Paul Levine.
Opening night: Wednesday, May 22
Exhibit runs Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays through July 7. Tickets are free but required
